On this course you will be introduced to performance skills through practical task work. This course is open to beginners and those who wish to improve their skills. You will develop your confidence, through voice projection and breathing; learn improvisation techniques, characterisation, explore different acting styles and interpret texts. During term 1 there will be an introduction to naturalism, political theatre, physical theatre/mask work, and theatre of the absurd. At the end of term 2 learners will present duologues scenes after exploring texts by Ibsen, Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller and modern Royal Court playwrights. Term 3 will include classical theatre and preparation of audition piece monologues.
