This short course will teach you the absolute basics of sewing to enable you to make either your first garment, or other sewing project! You will develop a range of sewing machine skills, including knowledge of different needles, threads and machine feet, giving you the confidence to use a sewing machine on your own. You will learn the basics of how to select, read and use a beginners level commercial pattern and choose suitable fabric. In seven weeks you will be able to make a simple top, skirt, trousers or dress. Alternatively, you may opt for completing a craft item of your choice such as a cushion, tote or cosmetic bag.
