It is staggering to think that mental health problems can affect 1 in 10 children and young people. This can include depression, anxiety and conduct disorders, and if we take into consideration the mental impact of COVID 19, this number could be greatly increased. With uncertainty, comes the fear of the unknown, it is now, more than ever, that mental wellbeing is a necessity to thrive in todays world. Through mindfulness movement, relaxation and conscious breathing we aim to provide parents and children, aged 9 16 years old, with the coping mechanisms necessary to reduce anxiety and stress, develop emotional awareness and encourage a positive self-image.These sessions seek to introduce conscious breathing, while integrating themed lessons that are performed to yoga postures, within an inclusive, relaxed environment that children seem to welcome.
