Would you love to have the satisfaction of making your own soft-furnishings to add a personalised splash of colour, texture or print interest in your home? You will learn or develop all the essential skills & techniques you will need to work on a variety of soft furnishing projects that may include: making cushions, blinds, curtains, tie-backs and pelmets (as appropriate to your experience level & personal choice). You will be shown the correct way to measure and estimate fabrics, layout, cutting, making-up, pattern matching & hand finishing techniques. Complete beginners will begin with making a cushion of your choice, and over 5 weeks you should expect to complete a pair of piped cushions with a zip or button fastening, or potentially a simple cushion and a small lined roman blind. Returning learners, or those with more experience, will be able to select more complex project work of their choice. If you have no previous sewing experience & are very unsure of what to purchase, please attend the first session and discuss this with the tutor- but please be aware that you must have your fabric by the second class session, and you will then potentially only be able to complete a simple project.
