Are you curious about the Guitar? Would you like to play but think it may be too difficult? Hate the idea of 'practicing'? Do you wonder how it came to get all those strings? Then this is the course for you. Learners will embark on a journey through time, tracing the origins of the guitar, taking in cave paintings, Greek mythology, a trip along the silk road and listening all the way! Discover new sounds and instruments from all over the world and play simple ensemble pieces as a group. Engage with listening in a deeper way, remembering that listening is practice! Learners will use one stringed instruments, guitars and percussion with no need for any prior musical experience to take part. The only homework will be to listen to music so no feeling guilty about not picking your instrument up all week!!!
