Would you love to have the satisfaction of making your own soft-furnishings to add a personalised splash of colour, texture or print interest in your home? You will learn or develop all the essential professional standard skills & techniques you will need to work on projects such as scatter and bolster style cushions, as well as box seat cushions for chairs, sofas and benches. These will not only be unique to you, but will also have real longevity. You will be shown the correct way to select, measure and estimate fabrics, layout, cutting, making-up, pattern matching & some hand finishing techniques. Complete beginners & inexperienced learners are advised that they will begin with making a single or pair of simple cushions of your choice, and over 5 or 6 sessions you should expect to complete a pair of piped cushions with a zip or button fastening, and potentially a box cushion. This will depend on your sewing skills & the tutor will advise you accordingly. Returning & more experienced learners will be able to select project work of their choice which may include making more complex cushions, bedlinen, soft non-upholstered or loose covered footstools, small machine-made roman blinds or a pair of short machine-made curtains for a single window
