Ease yourself into Tuesday lunchtimes with a restorative yoga practice. This is a taster session for you to experience the gentle, healing power of restorative yoga.It is the process of active rest, the embodiment of being rather than doing. When practised regularly restorative yoga can reduce stress, relieve anxiety and bring relief to common aches and pains. Poses are mainly practised lying down - they are held for up to 5 minutes or more while your body and limbs are supported by props such as bolsters and blankets. This allows you to surrender to the shape of the pose. Your teacher will guide you through simple breath awareness techniques leaving you feeling centred and present, with a renewed sense of well-being: refreshed, relaxed and grounded.These restorative practices are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar.
