Restorative yoga - the essential restore, relax and renewing companion to the practice of yoga.No matter what your exercise background, these classes are a great compliment to your regular yoga or exercise regime. They embody the act of undoing, being rather than doing and when practised regularly can reduce stress, anxiety and bring relief to common aches and pains. The effects can often be felt for a number days after class, bringing a quiet, uncluttered mind, improved concentration and a deeper awareness of the mind/body connection. In these classes you will use yoga props (bolsters, blankets, blocks) to support your body and limbs so they can be held in poses for longer and provide a nurturing base to release long held tensions. Your body will open gently through passive stretching, breath awareness and relaxation techniques.These restorative practices are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar.
