This friendly & supportive beginners class will introduce you to and develop a range of key skills & processes- and will enable you to make your first garment to a professional standard. These include: cutting out, piecing together, fitting, stitching, pressing, the correct and safe use of tools & equipment, understanding a commercially bought pattern & choosing suitable fabrics. You will be able to sample & use a variety of techniques on the course, whilst working on a simple garment of your choice- which could be a shift style dress, easy top, skirt or trousers. Once minimum class numbers are met, the Curriculum Leader will contact you with guidance and recommendations for choosing & buying a suitable garment pattern and fabric that is easier to work with
