The course educates learners on a healthier lifestyle by involving them in the making of simple nutritious recipes using wholesome ingredients. This would help our learners to eat less processed foods and sugar. The teaching strategies aim at stimulating learners by using different foods that incorporate a variety of colour, texture and aromas. We offer a learning environment that is calm, inspiring and safe.Course includes: Learning about a variety of foods and a healthy diet. Gaining a basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety and practising using equipment independently and safely. Practising basic cookery skills with help or alone selecting and using cooking equipment, weighing and measuring, chopping, slicing peeling and mixing. Learning about the main food groups and how to use them to plan balanced meals and managing portion sizes when dishing up a meal. Shopping for ingredients seasonally and on a budget.
