This 11 week course in the Supported Learning Curriculum for Adults with Learning Difficulties is for learners who enjoy music and making music using drumming instruments. . This creative approach falls under our community inclusion and health pathways, as creativity can ease mental health challenges while producing something unique and meaningful which can be shared with community through our celebrations and events. This is a music course which involves playing musical instruments, in particular the ones from percussion family. This course enables expression through music while requires learners to participate in group and individual music making. Learners explore different rhythms, practise co-ordination, and turn taking as well as learn to follow instructions. It is believed that making music can positively impact mood and this course can help learners to relax and communicate through sounds.
