Would you like to learn how to breathe efficiently, to improve posture and gain skills to be mindful? This 11 week course is for Adults with Learning Difficulties and supports community inclusion and health pathways. During this course you will explore basic chair assisted yoga postures focused on range of motion, improving strength, flexibility, mobility and balance and in turn develop body & mind awareness through sensory stimulation. The exercises and breathing techniques introduced during this course encourage emotional awareness, exploration of self-understanding through deep relaxation/meditation, and promote a calm state of mind, while gently improve physical fitness and well-being.There is a focus on motor skills development and incorporating cognitive exercises through various activities to ensure a whole-body workout. Props and modifications are provided to ensure all learners reach their full potential.This course combines all aspects of Hatha yoga adapted to a chair assisted class, hence it is perfect for those with mobility issues or looking for gentle exercises and seek a stimulating and inclusive environment. This class also offers elements of sensory stimulation (taste, smell, touch, sound and sight), arts and crafts, musical instruments and games, feelings charts and open group discussions to develop emotional awareness.
