Restorative yoga is the perfect complement to your regular yoga or exercise regime. Based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar, these restorative practices embody the act of undoing, or being rather than doing. When practised regularly they can reduce stress and anxiety, and bring relief to common aches and pains, leaving you with improved concentration and a deeper awareness of the mind-body connection. In these classes, you will use props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks to support your body and limbs so you can hold poses for longer and release long held tensions. The combination of passive stretching, breath awareness and relaxation techniques will gently open up your body, leaving you feeling relaxed and renewed long after the session has ended.
