Experience the gentle healing power of restorative yoga in this free lunchtime taster session. Based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar, restorative yoga lets you harness the power of active rest. When practised regularly, this type of yoga can help reduce stress and anxiety, and alleviate common aches and pains. You'll perform most of the poses lying down, holding them for five minutes or more with your body and limbs supported by props such as bolsters and blankets. This allows you to surrender to the shape of the pose. Your teacher will also guide you through simple breath awareness techniques, so you'll leave the session feeling relaxed, refreshed and grounded, with a renewed sense of wellbeing.
