It has long been recognised that skin to skin contact is important for babies development physically and emotionally. In fact, both caregiver and baby benefit from the practice of touch, which is found to calm babies down, often crying less and sleeping better. Caregivers often experience a reduction in stress, lowering levels of depression, which can often be caused by sleepless nights. The session will include a brief warm up for the caregiver in preparation for the baby massage. Preparing baby for a full body massage, from the head to the toes. Learning a range of different stroke techniques including those to soothe baby through times of distress including colic and reflux. Baby fun time, stretching, rolling and bicycling. The session will finish with a short savasana, a great transition after an hour of relaxation. Massage oils will be provided, aromatherapy room spray is often used to encourage relaxation.
