Step into the colourful world of enamelled jewellery and create your own simple abstract or illustrative brooches in this welcoming beginner?level course. You will explore how enamel transforms metal through heat, learning to apply and layer colour, experiment with decorative techniques, and fire your pieces in the kiln to reveal vibrant multicoloured surfaces.You will familiarise yourself with properties and possibilities of different enamels through making a series of small sample tiles. Having gained necessary knowledge and confidence, you will then move on to designing and making two finished brooches, following your own design and supported by tutors technical instructions and guided demonstrations in cutting and preparing copper, applying enamels, firing safely, and attaching brooch fittings.By the end, you will have a pair of unique enamelled brooches and a collection of colourful samples that reflect your growing skills, along with the inspiration and confidence to continue exploring enamel and metal in your own creative way.
