Would you love to be able to upcycle & personalise furniture for your own home, or even to kick-start a potential new career? This new 4-day workshop will develop your skills in the selection and use of a variety of both traditional & modern techniques and upholstery materials, using specialist tools & equipment and considering appropriate design ideas. As a beginner, and due to the length of the course, your starter project MUST be either a small foot/piano stool or a simple drop-in seat dining style chair (i.e. this should have just a one-person seat pad and no springs). The period & style of the item is your own personal choice, but please be aware that this will determine which overall methods and materials you will use. Returning learners should bring along their current project work or new chair project. If you need further guidance- particularly about starter project choices- do please contact the Curriculum Leader before you enrol and/or purchase a specific piece of furniture
